Well, there's nothing stopping you from using the death count as a score.

I'm able to move around and shoot on the windows version, but its unclear where I'm supposed to be going and what I'm supposed to be doing.

The physics were very broken and, though this is probably just my PC, the game ran very poorly. You have a good concept though, I think this could have been fun with a little more work on the physics and optimization.

This is an excellent game. The art is clean and complete, and the gameplay is fun and has replay value. My only addition would be a little bit more explanation of the controls within the game itself. My first run, I started the game and then had to exit out of fullscreen to check how to do stuff, while the timer was still going.

You have a talent for writing, but keep in mind that brevity is important. I really like this concept and would love to see it further developed.

It's hard to say anything about the gameplay at this stage of development, but the presentation is very good and the movement feels nice.

This is a really good idea, however, the gameplay was confusing and I wasn't really able to get into it. I think a clearer interface and some sort of tutorial could make this into a much more fun and interesting experience.

The movement in this is actually kind of nice. I like being able to jump around everywhere. I do think there are some balance issues, namely that its really easy to die and checkpoints are sparse. Overall nice work.

This is a really, really good game. The concept is interesting, but the execution just knocks it out of the park. Does not feel like it was made in 48 hours at all. My only complaints are that the controls seem designed for a race of 3-armed beings, and that the robbers and staff members probably should not overlap as much as they do. Otherwise, excellent work.

This is a nice idea and well executed. Good work.

Excellent game! It's a good concept and the upgrade progression is really fun. I personally was confused by what the different upgrades actually did at first, so some more explanation there would be an improvement. But overall, it's very enjoyable.

The art is quite good, and I think I understand the concept you're going for, but there's no tutorial and the game is quite incoherent.

This is a really nice concept and fun to play. There were a couple of small QoL things that I would have changed, but overall excellent work.

Your implementation isn't terrible, but you should spend more time thinking over your gameplay idea before you start developing. For example, you could include custom orders and time limits to introduce a little challenge into how you prioritize acquiring and forging the various gems. Or there could be minigames to represent the journey of the adventurers or process of the blacksmith. Perhaps different adventurers could be hired, at different prices, but whom would produce results in a shorter time or with more reliability. Currently you have a framework, but there is neither skill nor strategy in the gameplay.

The level design is actually pretty good. The movement felt a little jittery and buggy though. With some smoother movement, this could be a very enjoyable arcade game.

Very Bean.

It was pretty hard to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, but I figured it out. The graphics are very interesting, I've never really seen a game that looks like this before.

Thank you!

Very good art, especially on the main menu. Gameplay is fun as well, and I like the level up system. With some minor adjustments and a few more levels, this could be a full game.

Thank you! Yeah, we ran into the time limit at about the time we would have been implementing menus. I'm glad you enjoyed regardless of the hackiness.

I LOVE this game. The artstyle is excellent and the music goes really well with it. I played it all the way to the end, and I'd try playing it again to get a lower hit count if I wasn't trying to go through as many games as possible. My only critique is that the abilities of the player feel a little bit slow sometimes--I personally would have made dodges and shots recharge much faster--but that's a really minor issue.

This is an okay game, but I just don't think the concept cuts it for enjoyable gameplay. User input can be represented by a single bit. If there were more variety in the platforms, or if the character could be controlled in more than one way, or if the game was more visually interesting, it might draw me in to play for longer.

One of the best games I've seen in this jam. Very good design. Lots of depth--three levels is a lot for a game jam. I liked chickpea. I hope they're happy as a plant now.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something about how the game is played, but there seems to be a lot of guesswork and trial & error regarding launch angles. Good job with the art and the menus though.

This is a decent game. It's fun, I like that you thought to add multiple skins, and the music goes quite nicely with the aesthetic of drifting through clouds and beans.

However,  I'm surprised you didn't see in playtesting that sitting through a long, unskippable narration sequence every time you restart would be maddening.

This is a solid concept and has very good assets. Automatic 5 star for audio and graphics.

Although it's possible I'm simply bad at rhythm games, I will note that some of leaves didn't seem to really match the beat of the song. I had to try and time the leaves, not the music, because if I went with the music I would die.

This is a really good game. The concept is good and gameplay is fun. There's lots of variety in how you can approach the task at hand, and the upgrade system provides some replay value. However, it does lack polish. SFX could use improvement, as could the menus and UI.

The writing in this was unironically good.

A neat, well executed concept. Assets are good and the game feels complete as far as music, sound, menus, etc goes.

Art is surreal and very well done. The game has much more depth than I expected. I should have collected more beans though, I ran out of beans and couldn't get past homonoculous.

Absolutely beanless

Simple concept well executed. Good selection of levels. Good assets.

Possible improvements:

- Some of the earlier levels could stand to be harder.

- This might possibly defeat the point of the puzzle, but I think it might be kind of cool if you could see a little ghost of where your character would go if you launched in a given direction.

Very good implementation of theme and special object. Art is wonderful and the music is fitting. Game feels complete and well executed. You have a future in game dev.

Possible improvements:

- You could give the player a little more control by allowing them to slightly alter their falling speed.

- Many of the beans are uncollectable due to them spawning right over obstacles. Beans should spawn in a pattern that allows them all to be collected.

- The cut to the game over screen is abrupt, but this is a really minor complaint.

nice beans

looking around for beans and suddenly seeing a humanoid figure was actually quite chilling

in future consider including more bean variety
